Driftwood Eclipse is a wall-mounted display shelf designed to look like twisted wood has grown directly out of the wall.

The flowing roots, broken branches, deep bark texture, and large circular opening turn the support structure into part of the artwork instead of hiding it behind a traditional shelf bracket. The signature eclipse-shaped opening creates a natural frame for miniatures, collectibles, plants, figures, and other display pieces.

I wanted this design to look interesting even when the shelf is completely empty. From the front, side, and underneath, the branches continue wrapping around the shelf so the entire piece feels like one continuous organic sculpture.

Key Features

Signature Eclipse Opening: The large circular driftwood structure creates a strong focal point and naturally frames whatever you choose to display.
Sculptural Driftwood Geometry: Deep bark grooves, knots, broken branch ends, roots, and twisted organic forms give the model detail from every viewing angle.
Integrated Shelf Supports: The branches visually wrap around and support the shelf instead of looking like conventional brackets.
Detailed From Every Angle: Roots continue underneath the shelf and around the front edge, making the model especially interesting when viewed from below or from the side.
Looks Great Empty or Styled: Driftwood Eclipse was designed to function as wall art on its own, not just as a platform for other objects.

🌲 Print Tip

The bark texture is extremely forgiving when printed.

Layer lines, subtle seams, and minor surface variations naturally disappear into the wood grain, which makes this model particularly well suited to:

Wood-tone brown
Walnut
Dark oak
Burnt amber
Matte black
Stone gray
Bone / ivory
Wood-filled filament
Fantasy or stylized colors

Side lighting on the finished print will really bring out the bark grooves and shadows.

Installation Guide

Print all components using the supplied orientations and allow every part to cool before removing the supports very carefully.
Determine your mounting locations and use screws and anchors appropriate for your wall construction.
Whenever possible, mount structural attachment points into a wall stud for the strongest installation.
Install the shelf assembly and confirm that all supporting sections are seated correctly.
Load test gradually using lightweight objects first before placing your final display items on the shelf.

I wanted this one to feel less like a shelf with decorative brackets and more like a piece of wood somehow grew out of the wall and became the shelf.

The circular opening became the defining feature while I was working on the design, which is where the name Driftwood Eclipse came from.

The roots and branches intentionally continue around and underneath the shelf so there isn't really a "bad angle" to view it from.

And if you don't have a multi-toolhead printer, don't hesitate to print the single-color version. The geometry does most of the visual work, and it looks fantastic as one continuous sculptural piece.
